Did Trevor Noah trick Bad Bunny into 2026 Grammys performance?
Bad Bunny is set to perform as the Super Bowl LX halftime show headliner
As Super Bowl week begins, Bad Bunny seems to be prioritizing vocal rest ahead of the big show.
Just a week prior to his 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, the 31-year-old Puerto Rican-American rapper attended the Grammys and despite six nominations, he told the host of the night Trevor Noah that he wouldn’t be able to perform due to his Super Bowl contract.
During the broadcast of the high profile ceremony, the 41-year-old South African comedian playfully nudged the DtMF hitmaker to sing, but his first request was denied.
"Whoever's doing the Super Bowl is contractually obligated to only do the Super Bowl, so, you can't perform at the Grammys," Noah questioned the singer. "Is this true?”
“I wish, but I can't,” Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, quipped.
The former Daily Show anchor admitted that he thought Bad Bunny would perform this year, which led the Monaco singer to laugh, saying, "Me too!"
Trevor, however, did not give up on his attempts, and came to Benito’s table for the second time.
On his second attempt, the comedian started singing DtMF a cappella, which the singer couldn’t resist and sang along for a few lines.
Trevor then called in a salsa band for their brief spontaneous performance, thanking the artist for playing along and floated the idea of teaming up for the Super Bowl.
“If they sue you, that’s not [on] me,” he playfully remarked.
On February 8, Bad Bunny is expected to take center stage as the Super Bowl LX halftime show headliner, with Green Dray, Charlie Puth, Coco Jones, Brandi Carlile also set to perform.
