Chappell Roan made headlines at the Grammys
Chappell Roan, who stole the show on the red carpet at the Grammys, broke silence on the severe criticism.
The American singer attended the star-studded awards show on Sunday, February 1 in Los Angeles, California.
As everybody glammed up for the special night, so did the singer, but her choice of dressing received disapproval from the online users.
Chappell donned a red sheer cloth similar to a dress, but it was just a skirt with a trail as her upper half was naked.
Speaking against the “slut-shamming”, the songwriter took to Instagram and posted her picture as she penned her thoughts.
Discussing the discourse, the Pink Pony Club songstress wrote, “Giggling because I don’t even think this is THAT outrageous of an outfit.”
“The look’s actually so awesome and weird. I recommend just excercising your free will it’s really fun and silly :D”
This comes after Chappell was bombarded by netizens as one penned, “It was outrageous and embarrassing. How's she going to be a role model to little kids if that's how she dresses to award shows.”
Another added, “To be honest, Chappell Roan's outfit at the Sunday Grammys was weird. That's it… no question.”
It is to be noted that although the 27-year-old artist did not win any award, she was nominated this year for the Record of the Year category and Best Pop Solo Performance award.
