Gabrielle Union has recently opened up about the biggest takeaway from her latest animated movie, Goat.

The American actress, who voices Jett Fillmore, an elite Roarball star in an upcoming family sports comedy, joins TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones to discuss her new movie.

Interestingly, the movie centres on Will Harris (Caleb McLaughlin), a teenage goat, who gets a surprise shot at the pros in Roarball, a co-ed, full-contact sport, which is dominated by bigger, tougher players in the league.

During her conversation with hosts, Gabrielle notes that the movie delivers a powerful message for the viewers.

The Bring It On actress shares that this movie is about “underdogs learning that you should never let anyone put a ceiling on your dreams”.

“Anyone is capable of doing amazing things with their lives if they’re given the chance and a bit of encouragement,” explains the 53-year-old.

Another big lesson the Being Mary Jane actress takes away from the movie is that people often project their own limits onto others, and that kind of thinking can put an end to their dreams.

“Never take advice from people who haven’t done what you’re trying to do,” she adds.

Elsewhere in the interview, Gabrielle also reveals working with Stephen Curry, who serves as both producer and voice actor in the movie.

In addition to Caleb and Gabrielle, other stars include Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jennifer Hudson, Dwyane Wade, Nicola Coughlan and many more.

Meanwhile, Goat is slated to release in theatres on February 13.
