Arsenal fans have officially taken over TikTok, flooding the platform with “Wembley Bound” celebrations after the Gunners secured their spot in the Carabao Cup final.
In a high-stakes semi-final second leg at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, Arsenal edged out London rivals Chelsea with a dramatic 1-0 victory, progressing 4-2 on aggregate.
The match remained a tense, goalless stalemate for 90 minutes as Mikel Arteta’s side focused on defending their 3-2 lead from the first leg.
However, in the seventh minute of stoppage time, former Chelsea star Kai Havertz broke the deadlock, rounding the keeper to slot home a counter-attack goal that sent the home crowd into a frenzy.
The victory marks Arsenal’s first appearance in a major cup final in six years. A jubilant Mikel Arteta hailed the result as a massive boost for the club’s season, stating:
“The fact that we worked so hard to achieve this moment and to have this moment together, it’s just magical. You can see the joy, the smiles, the energy in the dressing room.”
Despite the defeat, Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior remained optimistic about his rebuilding project, saying, “I cannot fault the application, intensity or the fight of the players. What we need to do is remember this is the start.”
Arsenal will now head to Wembley on March 22, where they will face either Manchester City or Newcastle United for the trophy.
