Carrie Underwood gets emotional after a contestant's performance
Carrie Underwood couldn’t hold back tears after witnessing a deeply moving American Idol audition.
During the February 2 episode of the singing competition, the 42-year-old country singer and fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan watched season 24 Hannah Harper as she took the stage with her original song String Cheese.
Upon revealing that the song was inspired by her battle with postpartum depression, Carrie was seen to be having a deeply emotional reaction.
"That’s about the most relatable song I think I’ve ever heard," the Cry Pretty hitmaker, who shares sons Isaiah, 10, and Jacob, 7, with husband Mike Fisher, expressed.
“You might be my favorite person that’s walked through those doors," she said to the contestant.
Continuing, "You’re one that I’m going to think about when we leave here. I’m going to be rooting for you. I loved everything about everything you just did.”
The judges decided to send Hannah through the next round, after her heartwarming performance.
