Fans looking forward to Fallout season 3 releasing are in for a surprise sooner than expected.

Prime Video has officially renewed the hit video game adaptation for a third season as the season 2 finale airs. Season two concluded on Tuesday, February 3.

While a final release date has not yet been announced producers are already looking ahead to filming.

Created by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner Fallout premiered in April 2024 and quickly became one of Prime Video’s biggest global successes attracting more than 100 million viewers worldwide.

Amazon MGM Studios confirmed the season 3 renewal in 2025.

In a statement Amazon MGM Studios Global Head of Television Vernon Sanders said: “We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout.”

Sanders praised the creative team behind the series adding: “Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video.”

He continued: “Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of Season Two.”

While viewers will have to wait for a confirmed premiere date executive producer Jonathan Nolan suggested production could start sooner than expected.

Speaking to IGN Nolan said: “With regards to production, we’re hoping to be shooting again next summer. We’ll see if that all comes together — best laid plans and all.”

For now fans can look forward to the promise that the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout is far from over.
