‘Harry Potter’ writer JK Rowling addresses Jeffrey Epstein rumours
The British author set the record straight
British author JK Rowling has clarified her association with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The Department of Justice released over 3 million files inked to the crimes of Epstein which included many powerful individuals.
Rowling, who rose to fame for writing the famous Harry Potter series, was speculated to have given an invitation to Epstein to attend the opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway.
Denying the allegations, Rowling took to X to address the rumours herself.
She wrote “This is beyond silly. Neither I, nor anybody on my team, ever met, communicated with or invited Jeffrey Epstein to anything.”
It is reported that it was the play's producer, Colin Callender, who sent the invitation at Epstein’s associate Peggy Siegel’s request.
Peggy said “very important friend wanted to come see the spectacle.”
The Playground Entertainment head confirmed he was not aware of who the friend was, as per Deadline.
It was also mentioned in the documents that Epstein did not attend the show because he was not on the guest list.
