Nick Jonas talked about the emotional arrival of his and Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s daughter, Malti Marie Jonas.

During his recent interview, the 33-year-old singer shared the challenges his little one went through as a newborn baby.

Speaking on Jay Shetty’s podcast, he stated, “She was born via a surrogate. We got to the hospital, and she came out 1 pound, 11 ounces and purple basically.” .

He went on to describe the critical care their daughter received, calling the NICU nurses “angels” for helping her recover and looking after her during those first fragile days.

“I can still smell it; there are always visceral things,” he said, reflecting on the intense experience, which took place during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the next three and a half months, the songwriter and his better half Priyanka stayed at the hospital in near daily 12 hour shifts, supporting Malti as she fought to grow stronger.

“After six blood transfusions, she was doing great. We got to take her home after 3.5 months,” he shared.

For the unversed, the couple tied the knot in December 2018 in Jodhpur with both traditional Hindu and Christian ceremonies.
