Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan may reunite for big screen
Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan set for possible reunion with 'Main Hoon Na' sequel
After the high-stakes buzz around King, Shah Rukh Khan may already be lining up his next big reunion, this time with filmmaker Farah Khan, nearly 12 years after their last film together.
Industry chatter suggests Main Hoon Na 2 is emerging as the front-runner for superstar’s next big-screen project, bringing back a partnership that once defined crowd-pleasing Hindi cinema.
Pinkvilla reports that discussions between the actor and director are “going strong”, reviving memories of Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007) and Happy New Year (2014).
Those films blended scale, humour and emotion, and helped cement the 60-year old director’s signature style.
Two decades on, the sequel is said to aim for nostalgia without playing it safe. According to sources, “Farah Khan has cracked an exciting double-role concept for Shah Rukh Khan, which has excited the superstar.”
The idea would see the Dunki star play two contrasting characters, pushing both emotion and entertainment.
The film is described as “a patriotism galore”, centred on a new threat to India, while keeping comedy at its core. Interestingly, “the core story idea has come from Shah Rukh Khan himself,” with writer Aakash Kaushik developing it into a screenplay.
The makers are also keen on bringing back actors from the original film alongside new faces.
With the Jawan actor’s schedule packed after King, timelines are still fluid. But insiders say Main Hoon Na 2 has moved up the priority list.
The 60-year-old is expected to hear the full narration around May 2026, a moment that could decide whether one of Bollywood’s most popular collaborations returns for an encore.
