New 'Gossip Girl' project is in the works
Fans of Blair Waldorf from the hit series Gossip Girl have a reason to be excited about as a new standalone novel Blair, is in the works, as per Deadline.
The original series’ author Cecily von Ziegesar has confirmed the news and revealed it will pick up on Blair’s glamorous Manhattan adventures.
The outlet reported that Alloy Entertainment has closed a major deal to sell the upcoming novel by von to Karen Kosztolnyik, VP, Executive Editorial Director of Fiction at Grand Central Publishing.
The upcoming novel is reportedly expected to hit the shelves in Summer of 2027.
Blair follows up 20 years after the original Gossip Girl series, with Blair Waldorf now in her 40s. While plot details are kept under the wraps, the novel is will likely follow the former NYC socialite as she returns to Manhattan, with the goal to climb back to the top of the Upper East Side social scene.
Alloy Entertainment keeps the film and TV rights for Blair, licensing only the publishing rights. Currently no announcements on any small-screen adaptation have been made.
