When it comes to his future wedding, Simu Liu revealed there is one thing that he absolutely needs.

During his conversation with People at an Oh, Mary! press event in New York City, on February 2, the 36-year-old Canadian actor spoke on wedding planning.

Simu, who is engaged to Allison Hsu, humorously shared that wedding planning felt "really wonderful" right up until he saw the price tags.

"Everything's been good. I would say we're at the point now where it's probably my least favorite, it's where I'm finding out how much everything costs," the Kim's Convenience star admitted.

Continuing, "And I really do think no matter what your budget is, it's always going to cost more than you think. Everything always costs more than you think. That's definitely true for us as well."

Even with the expense, Simu shared that wedding planning has been "relatively pain-free and joyous process," giving credit to the fact that he and his fiancé are aligned on their one must have.

"Good music," the Barbie actor stated. "You're throwing a party with your best friends in the whole wide world and, of course, it's our day but it's also their day. It's just a day to celebrate kind of everyone being together and sharing in our happy moment. And so, just making sure that our musical acts are all lined up and ready to go."

For the unversed, Simu Liu is making his broadway debut in Oh, Mary! as Mary's Teacher from February 3 , through April 21.
