Charli xcx reflects on filming Kylie Jenner cameo in ‘The Moment’
The ‘Brat’ singer says Jenner’s scene was “separated” from rest of shoot
Charli xcx is being honest about her favorite scene from her new music video, The Moments, and it’s Kylie Jenner’s cameo.
On Tuesday, February 3, speaking at the special screening and Q&A of the A24 film at Alamo Drafthouse’s Brooklyn location, Charli got candid about filming the new song.
The conversation started The Moment director Aidan Zamiri asked Charli about which scene she particularly enjoyed most during the shoot.
“Obviously, most things,” the Brat singer said, before she emphasized Kylie’s cameo.
“I had a great time filming the Kylie scene, of course,” Charli told the Scottish filmmaker.
She noted that it was shot separately from the rest of the production, which began with a scene featuring Rachel Sennott. Like Charli and Jenner, Sennott appears in the film as a fictionalised version of herself.
“The first scene we shot for the film was with Rachel, and the last day was with Kylie,” Charli added. “So we sort of bookended with two legends, which was pretty cool … two people playing themselves.”
Charli went on to open up about what it was like working with Jenner, praising the reality star’s approach on set.
“The Kylie scene was honestly such a blast,” she said. “It all felt really natural and smooth — she just leaned into it, had fun, and totally made it her own.”
