Chris Hemsworth has battled some of Hollywood’s biggest fears on screen, but no one ever expected Amazon’s Alexa+ to could scare the Thor.

In a new Amazon commercial, the Avengers star and his wife, Elsa Pataky, star to promote the massive global company, airing during the 2026 Super Bowl.

Hemsworth was clearly shaken that Alexa+, now powered by generative AI, is devising his death.

Speaking with PEOPLE, the Marvel star admitted he loved trying the comedic tone in the global corporation’s commercial.

"There's a self-deprecating quality to it, which lends itself to my sense of humor," Hemsworth said. "I don't mind being the joke in the scenario. I'm playing Chris Hemsworth, but the character of Chris Hemsworth."

Meanwhile, Pataky also enjoyed the fact that scenes in the ad are just like the dramatic way her husband tells stories in real life.

"Chris is an amazing storyteller, ... and his stories are a little bit like that — over the top — so [this commercial] felt really similar in that way," she said, while Hemsworth quipped: "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."

The ad opens with Hemsworth casually strolling indoors holding a massive snake, unfazed, until he overhears his wife, Pataky, speaking to Alexa+.

Suddenly alarmed, he insists the device is dangerous, imagining wild scenarios where the assistant turns on him, asking "Now, how would I do that?" Hemsworth tells it different means the AI tool can hurt him.

Pataky brushes off his fears as overactive imagination, while Alexa+ quips about his stress. "You seem tense," the assistant said, while booking him a massage with a cinnamon scrub.
