Almost a decade later of quiet release, Sanam Teri Kasam found a second life on rerelease last year and is now heading to a new future.

Producer Deepak Mukut has confirmed that a sequel is on the way as the film completes ten years. 

The announcement came through an emotional Instagram post that looked back at a project that once struggled, but later surprised everyone.

In his post, Mukut reflected on why he chose this film as his first production. He wrote, “I have been drawn to filmmaking since I was a kid… With my first film as a producer, I wanted to make a romance with a strong emotional core.”

Looking back at the delayed success, he added, “My dream came true with Sanam Teri Kasam… While the film didn’t fare well at the box office initially, I always had faith in it. It was validated when the film re-released and rewrote history.”

The producer thanked co-directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, lead actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, and composer Himesh Reshammiya for helping bring the film to life.

But the biggest moment came at the end of his message: “But the story doesn’t end here, there is a reboot in store .”

Released in 2016, the romantic drama failed to make a mark at the box office. However, in a rare turn, it returned to cinemas years later and not only became the second-highest-grossing re-released film of 2025, but also stormed social media.

Now, fans of Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's love story are eyeing its next chapter.
