‘Barbie’ star discusses her role and premise of her new movie on Graham Norton Show
Margot Robbie has recently made surprising revelation about her leading role in upcoming movie, Wuthering Heights.
The Australian actress, who plays the role as Catherine Earnshaw in the movie adaptation of Emily Bronte’s 1847 gothic novel of the same name, revealed how she got her role during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on February 6.
Margot, who appeared on the talk show alongside her co-star Jacob Elordi, shared how she was forced to have dialect coaching for her “awful” accent.
“I wasn’t always going to be in it. I was thrilled to be the producer, but at some point, we were talking about Cathy, and I decided to throw my hat into the ring,” said the 35-year-old.
The Suicide Squad actress mentioned, “I’ve always wanted to be one of Emerald Fennell’s actors and fortunately, she felt the same way. It worked out wonderfully.”
Elsewhere on the show, Margot reflected on the premise of their new movie, saying, “Emerald loves the book and she really focused on the feeling it gave her when she first read it at 14.”
“She channels that raw emotional experience so it's an interpretation rather than an adaptation,” continued the Babylon actress.
Margot noted that it’s “one of the greatest love stories of all time and it has a great cast and incredible actors. It's a great film”.
The actress also spoke up about the success of Barbie, adding, “We sounded insane in pitch meetings when we said it would take a billion dollars and be a global moment.”
