Adam Sandler lost Oscar nom for ‘Jay Kelly’
American actor Adam Sandler took a dig at his peers after he was snubbed for his performance in Jay Kelly.
Adam, who is mostly known for playing comic characters, pivoted from his usual roles and played a different character in the George Clooney starrer 2025 movie.
Accepting an award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Thursday, Adam joked that others who got nominated were better at networking with the Academy than him.
He began while accepting the Maltin Modern Master Award, “Thank you to the fortune teller I met in 1982 who told me I would win an Oscar for a movie called Jay Kelly. Is it possible you didn't say the full title and actually met Jay Kelly 2?”
“For real, thank you to everyone that got an Oscar nomination this year. Congrats. You earned it. I truly do think you're better at acting than me.”
He added that the others were also better at schmoozing than him.
Jay Kelly received nods at the Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globe Awards but missed out the Oscar accolade.
