Nepali actor Sunil Thapa, internationally recognized for his role as Priyanka Chopra’s coach in Mary Kom, has passed away at the age of 68.

Based on the reports of source, the veteran actor breathed his last on Friday morning in Kathmandu after suffering a suspected heart attack.

A hospital source told The Kathmandu Post, “He was unconscious when he was brought in. An ECG was done immediately, which confirmed his death.”

However, it is pertinent to not, the doctors suspect cardiac arrest as the cause of death, even though an official medical report is still awaited.

For the unversed, the deceased actor started his film career with Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981) and acted in many Hindi films.

In 2014, he became famous for playing coach Narjit Singh in biographical film Mary Kom, which grossed over ₹100 crore worldwide.

Recently, Sunil appeared for a short time in The Family Man Season 3, playing David Khuzou, a respected leader and head of MCA in Nagaland.
