The British politician was mentioned in the Epstein files
British politician Peter Mandelson was named in the Epstein files which have revealed new information about him.
The former Labour Party politician, who is also known as Baron Mandelson, recommended a holiday home to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the emails.
The Department of Justice released a new batch of the files linked to Epstein which included many powerful men from across the world who were allegedly involved in his wrongdoings along with Ghislaine Maxwell.
In an email sent to Epstein, who passed away while serving his sentence in 2019, Mandelson said he “found you a great place to stay on the Amalfi coast” which offered “privacy with accompanying rooms for your 'guests'”.
There were quotation marks placed on the word “guests”.
A spokesperson for the 72-year-old said he “did not discover the truth about Epstein until after his death in 2019”.
His lawyers said he has “no recollection of this email, which was sent over 15 years ago”.
It is unclear who “guests” is being referred as.
The emails dates back to 12 August 2010, one month after Epstein completed his 2008 sentence for soliciting sex from a 14-year-old girl in Florida.
