Andy Samberg recently opened up about first unexpected encounter with Jason Momoa

The Zootopia 2 star explained how he met the Minecraft Movie actor at the SNL 50th Anniversary Special afterparty.

“I had never met him and then last year at the SNL 50th after-party, I met him and he picked me up and swung me around in a circle like a rag doll,” said the 47-year-old in a new interview with PEOPLE.

Andy told the outlet, “We hugged and laughed.”

When the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor shared his story to his longtime friends and writers, Rob Klein and John Solomon, they came up with the idea of pairing Jason and Andy onscreen for upcoming movie, Protecting Jared.

“A week later they were like, ‘We have an idea for a movie for you and Momoa,’” he continued.

Andy further said, “They told it to me and I loved it, and we called him. We went and pitched it to him and he loved it.”

“We took it out, and Netflix bought it,” added the actor.
