Margot Robbie has revealed a gift she once received from a fellow actor that completely caught her off guard in the early days of her career.

During a video interview with Wuthering Heights musician Charli xcx for Complex, the 35-year-old Australian actress recalled being given an unexpected present by a male co-star.

“Very, very early in my career, an actor I worked with, a male actor, gave me a book called Why French Women Don't Get Fat, and it was essentially a book telling you to eat less,” Margot said.

Recalling her reaction at the time, she added, “I was like, 'Whoa, f*** you, dude.' ”

The Barbie actress clarified that the gift was given “really back in the day” and that she has no idea where the actor is now.

Charli then turned to the camera and quipped, “Your career's over, babe.”

To which Robbie replied, “He essentially gave me a book to let me know that I should lose weight. I was like, 'Wow.' ”

Making her feel less alone, the Apple hitmaker shared that she once received a small jar of one of her fan’s mother’s ashes.

Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi, Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes, Owen Cooper, and Ewan Mitchell is slated for release on February 13, 2026.
