Fans have reason to celebrate as Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are set to return to The Mummy franchise.

But, they will have to wait as The Mummy 4 is scheduled to release on May 19, 2028, Universal confirmed.

Brendan, 57, and Rachel, 55, have finalised agreements to return as their fan favourite characters Rick O’Connell and Evelyn O’Connell in the upcoming film.

However, plot details haven’t been revealed yet.

The English actress starred in the original two Mummy films, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, while the American and Canadian actor led all three of the movies including The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence will direct the prjoect. The Mummy 4 marks Radio Silence’s return to Universal, after their 2024 vampire hit Abigail.

Sean Daniel, who produced the first three movies, in addition to the 2017 Tom Cruise reboot, is also returning to produce the fourth film.
