The real drama of Don 3 is now playing, not on the big screen but behind closed doors, and Hrithik Roshan’s name has been dragged into it.

Actor Ranveer Singh and filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment are locked in a bitter dispute, months after Ranveer walked out of the film in December 2025.

What was meant to be a grand reboot of the famous franchise has turned into one of Bollywood’s most talked-about fallouts.

The 40-year-old star has reportedly claimed that the makers kept delaying the shoot when his films were not doing well. He has also accused them of approaching another star behind his back.

According to reports, Hrithik Roshan was allegedly considered for the lead role.

But a source close to the 52-year-old  actor has denied this strongly, saying, “It is not true, Hrithik was not approached to star in Don 3 after Ranveer came on board.”

The Padmaavat lead star was announced as the new Don in 2023, with a teaser and Kriti Sanon joining the cast.

A source told HT City that pre-production had started, and “Farhan was scouting locations actively in 2025, from the last week of August till early September.” Yet, filming never began.

After Dhurandhar became a hit, Ranveer exited the project.

Excel is now demanding ₹40 crores in compensation, saying the sudden exit caused heavy losses. Reports also claim several crew members were let go.

The dispute led the Producers Guild of India to try to calm the storm, with the latest meeting held on February 7 in Mumbai.
