Actor Shanaya Kapoor has spoken about a painful moment from her past that changed the way she looks at love.

During a recent appearance on the podcast Relationshit Advice, the 26-year-old  revealed how she caught her former boyfriend messaging five other women while they were on a holiday together abroad.

She said she thought she was in a “perfect” relationship. “I was thinking, This is it. It’s too good to be true. What a life, wow. This is the best relationship.”

The truth came out when her phone died and she borrowed his to book a cab. 

In the meantime, a message from his ex popped up. As she kept checking, more chats appeared. “The second girl popped up, the third girl, the fourth, the fifth. There were five girls he was messaging,” she said.

In shock, the Bedhadak actress sent screenshots to her friends on Snapchat. One of them was Ananya Panday, who told her to leave and come to her. 

“I can’t just catch a fucking train, what do I do?” Shanaya said, explaining how she pretended everything was fine for days.

Her boyfriend later bought her earrings to calm her. She called them “guilty earrings” and still wears them.

The  Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan actor is now promoting Tu Yaa Main, opposite Adarsh Gourav, directed by Bejoy Nambiar. 

The film releases on 13 February, clashing with O'Romeo by Vishal Bharadwaj, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.
