Indian actor Sreeleela has added a new title to her name, and this one did not come from a film poster. 

After six years of balancing film sets and textbooks, she has completed her medical degree from DY Patil University in Mumbai.

It is now not just Sreeleela, but Dr Sreeleela.

The 24-year-old actor shared pictures from her convocation ceremony on Instagram. 

In one, she stands in a black robe with her family. In another, she smiles with her batchmates inside the campus. 

There is also a throwback from her college days, a reminder of a journey that ran quietly alongside a rising film career.

In a long note, she wrote, “A milestone. A journey—one that you were a part of, knowingly or unknowingly. A sacred space that became my serene escape from the facade… a place where I could simply be me. Your girl kept her promise.”

The Robbinhood actor added, “This wasn’t just about a degree. It was about growth, faith, tears, resilience, and becoming.” 

Thanking her family, friends and colleagues for “accommodating my exams and standing by me through the chaos,” she signed off: “So let me reintroduce myself to you. Yours lovingly, Dr. Sreeleela.”

Born in Detroit in 2001 and raised in Bengaluru, Sreeleela made her acting debut with Chitrangada and later rose to fame with Pelli SandaD. 

She has since appeared in Guntur Kaaram and Pushpa 2: The Rule.
