Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem was the head of global ports operator DP World
Emirati businessman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem has resigned from his post as head of global ports operator DP World after the Epstein files controversy.
The former chairman and chief executive was mentioned in th newly released batch of the Epstein files numerous times including conversations of him with the late sex offender.
The Department of Justice released 3 million new files related to the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein who passed away in 2019.
While Jeffrey was servin his sentence, it has been alleged that many famous rich men have been involved in his wrongdoings who have been name dropped in the files.
DP World announced Sultan Ahmed’s resignation “effective immediately” on Friday, February 13, two weeks after the files were released.
The files revealed a long-term relationship between Epstein and the Emirati businessman. Epstein also introduced him to various international figures from politics and business by email.
The new chairman who has replaced him has been revealed to be Essa Kazim and the new chief executive will be Yuvraj Narayan.
