Drishyam 3 waited for release for the next year starring by Mohanlal in the lead role this year. It was on Sunday, when the actor himself declared the title.

He wrote, "#Drishyam3 | Worldwide Release | April 2, 2026"

It may be worth observing that at the beginning of his efforts on the film he did so on the eve of the Indian cinema's greatest recognition, the Dada Saheb Phalke Award which he received last year.

The law college near Kochi hosted a traditional puja ceremony to celebrate the official launch of the third instalment of the highly acclaimed franchise in September 2025.

Director Jeethu Joseph announced to the media before the film's release that Drishyam 3 would show the upcoming stage of Georgekutty's life who Mohanlal played in the movie.

"The film focuses on what happens in Georgekutty's life after four-and-a-half years. That is the crux of the story," Jeethu Joseph explained.

Producer Antony Perumbavoor who worked with Mohanlal for many years and helped create the Drishyam series success announced that the team decided to proceed with the third movie after they finished their thorough talks.

"The phenomenal response to the first two parts convinced us that Georgekutty's journey had more to tell. Only after detailed talks with Jeethu did we finalise this new version," Perumbavoor stated.

The shooting of the movie took place at different locations of Thodupuzha and Vagamon, and the last five days of filming the schedules were done in Ernakulam.

Ajay Devgn-starrer Hindi part 3 is planned to be released on October 2, 2026.
