Manchester Orchestra’s beloved drummer, Timothy Very, has breathed his last at the age of 42.
On Saturday, February 14, the indie rock band took to Instagram to confirm the devastating news of their bandmate’s death, paying a heartfelt tribute to their longtime colleague.
“The entire Manchester Orchestra family has been devastated by the sudden passing of our brother, Timothy Very,” the band began.
The lengthy statement continued, “The most beloved human being any of us were lucky enough to know in this life. We’ve all been dreading sharing this news, as we are still in absolute disbelief.”
Manchester Orchestra went on to remember the warmth Very brought into their lives, recalling his infectious smile that instantly made people feel welcome and encouraged.
Reflecting on the late musician’s positive qualities, they concluded, “We love you, Tim. Thank you for loving us. You are a force of positivity that will be a constant presence for the rest of our days.”
Formed in 2004, Very joined Manchester Orchestra in 2011 following the departure of drummer Jeremiah Edmond.
In addition to the late drummer, the band consists of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Andy Hull, lead guitarist Robert McDowell, and bassist Andy Prince.
As the music world mourns the loss, Timothy Very’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.
