The monkey in Ichikawa City Zoo Tokyo has everyone emotional
A monkey named Punch has been all the rage on social media for the past two days.
The story developed from zoo in Tokya of a Japanese macaque who found comfort in a stuffed toy.
The official X account of Ichikawa City Zoo in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, Japan, shared the snaps of Punch on Sunday.
The post was shared with the caption “Currently, there is a young monkey carrying a stuffed toy in the monkey mountain enclosure.”
His picture of cuddling with an orangutan stuffed toy has taken over the internet as people are getting emotional over his childlike attachment.
On person wrote “Poor little soul… glad he found something to comfort him.”
Another wrote “this is enough to make a grown man cry.”
Punch is a 6-month-old monkey who was born on July 26, 2025, weighing 500 grams and abandoned by his mother.
In his initial days, zookeepers Kosuke Shikano and Shumpei Miyakoshi took care of him.
