Akshay Kumar's rare confession about his personal life has stunned everone.

On the upcoming episode of his quiz reality show Wheel of Fortune, the 58-year-old Bollywood star made a made a statement which was not expected from hi, being an husband to an author wife. 

Speaking to a contestant named Yash, he said, "Aapko pata hai maine zindagi mein aaj tak ek bhi kitab nahi padhi hai. Main chehre padhta hoon (you know, I have not read a single book in my entire life. I read faces)."

The line quickly became the talking point of the episode.

The moment came after Yash, a marine engineer who also writes cartoon scripts and has worked on projects like Golmaal, Little Singham and Simmba, introduced himself. 

Impressed, the  58-year-old star joked, "So basically, you are a writer," before adding his now widely-shared admission.

He went on to say, "Sach bataoon, meri wife writer hain aur mujhe lagta hai woh din mein ek kitab zaroor padhti hain. By God, maine ek bhi kitab nahi padhi. Maine sirf chehre padhe hain. Sach kehta hoon, chehre se badiya kitab koi nahi hoti."

His wife, Twinkle Khanna, is known for her books Mrs Funnybones, Pyjamas Are Forgiving and Welcome To Paradise. Once an actor, she later built a successful career as a columnist and author.
