Veteran filmmaker Bhansali’s health scare sparks social media buzz
Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, one of Bollywood’s most celebrated directors, was reportedly hospitalised on his 63rd birthday.
Based on early key findings, the legendary movie maker had suffered a heart attack and is currently under medical care in Mumbai at NH Hospital.
According to a Zoom statement from his team, the reports are false, and the director is in good health.
For the unversed, he began his career as a director with the movie, Khamoshi: The Musical and gained widespread recognition with films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas.
Besides that, the veteran composer Ismail Darbar revealed the tension he had with the Love & War director. He reflected on their long collaboration and the sadness he felt after being replaced on Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
He said, “He betrayed me, not one, but twice. He committed to working with me, and then didn’t do so. I had worked on Heeramandi for 1.5 years, and he didn’t tell me before replacing me.”
Moreover, he told Mid-Day that while making Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas, he and Bhansali often disagreed on songs, however maintained a close relationship until Heeramandi.
