Paresh Rawal has officially disclosed that the beloved 2006 comedy Malamaal Weekly will return with a follow up.

During his latest media interaction, the acclaimed actor broke the news of the much anticipated sequel of the hit comedy.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, he revealed, “Yes, it’s true. I’m doing the film.”

However, an official update on the new installment of the cult film and its cast is yet to come.

In the 2006 hit comedic movie, directed by Priyadarshan, the 70-year-old actor starred as a smart lottery ticket seller.

For the unversed, the movie, set in a quiet village, was about a lost winning ticket, bringing lots of funny chaos as villagers fought to get it.

Alongwith Paresh, the drama featured the late Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav, Riteish Deshmukh, Reema Sen, late Asrani, Sudha Chandran, Shakti Kapoor, Rasika Joshi, Arbaaz Khan and Tiku Talsania.

It is pertinent to mention, the film made on a budget of ₹7 crore, raked in over ₹42 crore ($5.9 million) globally.
