Hollywood’s A-list stars were seen gracing the Screen Actors Guild’s 2026 Actor Awards, which was held on March 1 in Los Angeles.

From celebrities like Demi Moore, Teyana Taylor to Harrison Ford and Timothee Chalamet attended the star-studded event, there were  a few who skipped the awards ceremony.

Martin Short

Martin Short, who was nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series category for his Only Murders in the Building role, didn’t attend the event mainly because of his daughter Katherine’s death.

The actor’s daughter, whom he shares with late wife Nancy Dolgan, reportedly died by suicide at age 42 last month.

Selena Gomez

Martin’s co-star in OMITB Selena Gomez also missed out on Actor Awards ceremony. She was seen spending her time at her home as she shared a selfie in a robe on her Instagram Story. 

Her absence was notable because she was nominated along with her Only Murder in the Building co-stars in the outstanding ensemble cast category.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio also didn’t not attend the event despite receiving a nod for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his movie, One Battle After Another.

He skipped the awards ceremony due to production of Martin Scorsese’s What Happens at Night in Europe, reported via PEOPLE.

Ariana Grande

‘Wicked’ star Ariana Grande, who was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, was absent from the event due to her Eternal Sunshine Tour rehearsals, which will begin in June.

Sean Penn

Sean Penn won the Actor for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role but he was not present at the event.

Therefore, Allison Janney had to accept the award in place of him, which was for his role in One Battle After Another.

Owen Cooper

Adolescence star Owen Cooper, who won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series, was absent from  the LA ceremony.

So , presenter Damson Idris accepted the award on British actor’s behalf.
