Indian filmmaker Venky Atluri’s latest film, Vishwanath and Sons, starring Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, received its official title and release date this week. Earlier known as Suriya 46, the film’s first look poster was shared by both the actor and the production house, Sithara Entertainments.

The poster showed Suriya holding a baby in a carrier while also carrying a milk bottle. Both he and the baby were smiling. The image highlighted Suriya’s family-friendly image and brought attention to the film’s emotional theme.

Suriya shared the poster on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Love with a difference, family with a purpose — we arrive in July as a wholesome entertainer.” Sithara Entertainments added, “Power in his presence. Warmth in his embrace. Bringing back the vintage magic of @Suriya_offl in a heart-touching family spectacle. #VishwanathAndSons ~ The biggest family drama of the year arrives this July.”

Fans responded positively to the poster. One X user commented, “This one will be special after Lucky Bhasker,” referring to Venky Atluri’s previous film with Dulquer Salmaan. Another wrote, “Suriya looks absolutely dapper and effortlessly stylish,” while one fan called him “Cute Thalaivaa.” Some viewers also guessed about the baby’s identity, with one asking, “Don’t tell me that baby is Mamitha.”

The film was directed by Venky Atluri, known for Vaathi and Lucky Bhasker, and produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments. Alongside Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, the cast included Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon. This marked Raveena’s return to Tamil cinema after 24 years since her 2001 film Aalavandhan. GV Prakash Kumar composed the music for the movie.

Earlier, Naga Vamsi had described the film to Gulte, saying, “The film explored relationships, love, and emotions between a 45-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. Suriya 46 was a proper, happy family film, with very good human emotion.”

Before Vishwanath and Sons, Suriya had appeared in Karthik Subbaraj’s 2025 film Retro. He also had two other projects lined up: Karuppu with RJ Balaji and Suriya 47 with Jithu Madhavan. Karuppu starred Trisha Krishnan, while Suriya 47 included Nazriya Nazim and Naslen. Release dates and additional details for these projects had not been announced yet.
