Khushi Kapoor reportedly begins shooting for 'Mom 2' in Noida
Mom 2 became one of the early productions to be filmed at the new International Film City
Bollywood actress Khushi Kapoor began work on Mom 2, the sequel to the 2017 film Mom, which starred her mother, late veteran actress Sridevi. The new film went on floors at the Noida International Film City in Uttar Pradesh.
As per NDTV sources confirmed that Khushi had started filming for the project. The sequel was directed by Girish Kohli. Actors Jisshu Sengupta and Karishma Tanna were also part of the cast.
The original film Mom had been directed by Ravi Udyawar. It told the story of Devki, a mother seeking justice for her stepdaughter. The film was released in 2017. Sridevi received the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance. The award was announced after her death.
Mom 2 became one of the early productions to be filmed at the new International Film City located along the Yamuna Expressway in Noida.
During the promotions of the first film, Sridevi had spoken about her connection with the role. She had said, “The character hit me strongly. It is full of emotions, it is all about emotions and feeling them. I withdraw myself as an actor from everything on the sets. I did not plan to be aloof or not talk to anybody, this story did not allow me to do it.”
The Mr. India actress had also explained her approach to selecting projects. “There is a good quality of work around. I don't want to do films just because I have to do it. I am already busy at home, I enjoy being at home. I have two daughters. If there is something out of the box and good then only I do it,” she had said at the time.
Khushi Kapoor had earlier appeared in films including The Archies, Loveyapa and Nadaaniyan.
