Cillian Murphy is back promoting fan-favourite character Tommy Shelby ahead of the highly anticipated Peaky Blinders film.
On Monday, March 2, the 49-year-old Irish actor joined his star-studded co-stars in Birmingham as the red carpet rolled out at Symphony Hall for the premiere of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.
Based on Steven Knight’s award-winning TV series, the film follows Murphy’s Tommy Shelby as he returns to Birmingham during the Second World War.
As the Oscar winner walked the red carpet, he reflected on the significance of the upcoming project.
“It's important for the fans, it's important for [Steven Knight], I think it was very important,” Murphy said.
The Oppenheimer star added, “Steve has written it from stories he was told by his parents growing up here... it's huge, you can't separate the two."
Knight and director Tom Harper also attended the premiere, alongside new cast members Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth, as well as returning stars Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs), Ned Dennehy (Charlie Strong) and Ian Peck (Curly).
When will the Peaky Blinder’s film be released?
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, starring Cillian Murphy, is slated for a theatrical release on Friday, March 6, where it will run in cinemas for two weeks before streaming on Netflix beginning March 20.
