Justin Timberlake makes major legal decision over DWI arrest video
'The Mirrors' singer was arrested on a DWI charge back in June 2024
Justin Timberlake has recently made a major legal decision regarding the release of his DWI arrest video on March 2.
The American singer reportedly filed a lawsuit to halt the release of police body cam video from his drunk and driving arrest in June 2024.
For those unversed, Timberlake was taken into custody on account of driving while intoxicated, eventually breaking two road rules, one for running a stop sign and one for failure to keep in the lane.
Now, the singer’s lawyer submitted the documents and maintained that Timberlake wants an order from a Suffolk County Supreme Court judge to avoid “the public dissemination of footage from his traffic stop” on June 18, 2024.
Timberlake’s attorney argued that it “constitutes an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy”.
In the court documents obtained by US Weekly, the Bye Bye Bye crooner’s legal team claimed that he is shown “in an acutely vulnerable state during a roadside encounter with law enforcement”.
The singer’s lawyer pointed out that the footage “would cause severe and irreparable harm” to Timberlake’s “personal and professional reputation” and would subject him “to public ridicule and harassment”.
Also, Timberlake’s attorney declared that the video “serves no public interest”.
Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel's marital issues after DWI arrest
Justin’s marriage to wife Jessica Biel got into trouble after he was arrested for reckless driving, said a source while speaking to PEOPLE.
However, fast forward to October, the source opened up that the singer “has done everything he can to make up for the situation”.
“They have to work on their marriage like most couples because being working parents is never easy,” added the singer.
