‘Freaky Friday’ actress talks about the challenges child actors face in Hollywood
Jamie Lee Curtis reveals she gets emotional when it comes to children working in Hollywood.
The Freaky Friday star declares that showbusiness is not for children during an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.
Interestingly, the conversation begins after co-host Sheinelle shared that Lindsay Lohan praised Jamie for treating her well as a kid in the industry.
To which the True Lies actress replies that she would “cry” after hearing this comment.
“You make me cry because what you’re touching on is very important,” says the 67-year-old.
Later, Jamie admits that show business is “nothing but transaction,” which is why there is “no place for children”.
“It’s transactional… Children should not be transactional in relationships,” points out the Freakier Friday actress.
Meanwhile, Jamie mentions that she wants to create a “safe space” for child actors, with whom she works, giving them confidence that she’s there if they need her.
And in return, the actress adds she doesn’t want anything from them.
On the work front, Jamie will next be seen in Scarpetta, alongside Nicole Kidman, slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 11.
