Kesha, who is known for her hits like TiK ToK and Die Young, recently broke silence over music being used by Whit House.
The American singer’s song, Blow, was used in the background of a TikTok with visuals showcasing a jet launching a missile and destroying what appears to be an enemy ship, titled, Lethality.
Upon seeing the video, which has crossed 15 million views as of yet, the songwriter opposed the move as she penned, “Trying to make light of war is disgusting and inhumane. I absolutely do not approve of my music being used to promote violence of any kind.”
She also added, “"Love always trumps hate. Please love yourself and each other in times like this. This show of blatant disregard for human life and quite frankly this attack on all of our nervous systems is the opposite of what I stand for.”
Replying to her message, the WH Communications boss, Steven Cheung, wrote, “"All these 'singers' keep falling for this…"This just gives us more attention and more view counts to our videos because people want to see what they're bitching about.”
It is to be noted that Kesha is among the celebrities, such as Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Isaac Hayes, the Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, Radiohead, who have shown their discontentment with the White House’s way of using their work.
