Louise Thompson has opened up about expanding her family, revealing her husband Ryan Libbey has struggled with the idea of surrogacy.
Speaking on This Morning on March 3 the former Made in Chelsea star said the couple are still early in their journey and that Ryan’s “heart has not been in this decision up until really recently.”
Louise and Ryan share a son Leo born in 2021. The reality star previously nearly died during childbirth losing significant amounts of blood following an emergency caesarean section and a later haemorrhage at home.
She was later diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and post-natal anxiety and has since learned she can no longer carry children.
Discussing the possibility of surrogacy Louise admitted the process requires careful planning and comes with emotional and financial challenges.
“It’s not one of those things where we can just leave it to chance,” she said, adding that such conversations can test relationships.
Ryan described his hesitation as a “protection thing” explaining he is still coming to terms with the idea but wants Louise to have the chance to grow their family “without all the pain.”
