'The Rip' star Sasha Calle gears up for exciting new role
After dominating Netflix’s top 10 global film list for six weeks with The Rip, Sasha Calle has joined the cast of The Exorcist, Universal’s next installment in the legendary horror franchise, set for March 12, 2027, release, as per Deadline.
The plot and details regarding her role have not been revealed yet.
The film, written and directed by Mike Flanagan, is shooting in New York City.
Set in the Exorcist universe, the film will explore an entirely new story which will be separate from 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer.
The project includes the star studded cast of Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane.
Apart from writing and directing the production, Mike is also producing it via his Red Room Pictures banner, alongside David Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment and Jason Blum for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
Sasha, 30, starred in Netflix crime thriller The Rip, with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
The movie sat at number 1 on Netflix’s global English-language film list after premiering in January and now remains at number 7.
She has also starred in The Flash, On Swift Horses, In the Summers and more.
