Martin Short’s daughter Katherine’s cause of death revealed
Katherine Hartley Short, the daughter of actor Martin Short, cause of death revealed to be self-inflicted shooting.
As per Los Angeles County Department of Public Health death certificate, Katherine died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, as shared by TMZ.
The report further states that she has since been cremated.
Katherine was found inside her Hollywood Hills residence last Monday, on February 23, after police were called to carry out a welfare check.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed she was discovered behind a locked door, with a firearm and a note located at the scene. Authorities have not disclosed the contents of the note.
Law enforcement sources previously told TMZ that she had not been in contact with anyone for approximately 24 hours before a concerned friend alerted officers. Police subsequently forced entry into the home, where they found her body.
Detectives who examined the scene reported no indications of foul play. A close friend told TMZ that Katherine had seemed her usual self in the days prior and had not exhibited behaviour suggesting she intended to harm herself.
The loss is said to have deeply affected her father.
