Hailey Bieber recently opened up about her pregnancy struggles one and a half years after giving birth to her first child, Jack Blues Bieber, whom she shares with her husband, Justin Bieber.

During an appearance on the March 3 episode of the SHE MD podcast alongside co-hosts Mary Alice Haney and her own OB/GYN, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, the 29-year-old model discussed the initial challenges she faced while trying to conceive.

Explaining why her pregnancy came as a complete surprise, Hailey revealed that she had previously been diagnosed with a genetic condition that needed to be carefully monitored before expanding her family.

"Yeah. So I had a septum in my uterus, and Dr. A kept saying, 'Well, we need to look at this and keep an eye on it before you get pregnant because it could potentially be an issue,'"she recalled.

After hearing her gynecologist's concerns and the possibility of minor surgery, the Rhode founder assured she wouldn't be getting pregnant, yet she later learned she was expecting.

"And then she calls me, and she’s like, 'I’m pregnant!' And I’m like, 'No!'" Dr. Aliabadi shared.

Despite prior health concerns, including a mini-stroke and heart surgery in 2022, as well as a family history of premature labour, Hailey’s nine-month pregnancy progressed without major complications.

"I was convinced I was going to go into labour early because of my mom's history," the mom of one said. "But my body had its own plan."

Hailey’s optimism ultimately led her to welcome little Jack without any critical issue.

"I will never forget, as I was telling her, 'Well, these are the risks,' she looked at me. She's like, 'You know what? I believe that everything's gonna work out fine.' And I looked at her, and I'm like, 'I think so too,'" Dr. Aliabadi noted.
