Actress Ayesha Khan has opened up about the darker side of fame and online abuse she's facing on a daily basis.
The 23-year-old actor, who featured in Dhurandhar and appeared with Krystle D’Souza in the song Shararat, has been receiving widespread praise for her recent work. But behind the success, she says she continues to deal with trolling and threats.
Speaking at the We The Women event, the Baalveer actor recalled how she was once removed from a T-Series song during her college days because she was considered “fat.”
She said she was in Class 12 and was supposed to be the second lead in the track, but was replaced just a night before the shoot.
The Om Bheem Bush actress also talked about the online abuse she faces daily.
“I am almost every day sexualised for my body on Instagram. I wear a normal top; people have a problem, I wear skirts, people have a problem. I have to think before posting.
If I have to think before wearing something or wanting to post something, just because someone else is going to sexualise me, it’s, of course, a very sad space to be in,” she added.
Ayesha further said, “I have had rape threats every day. I so wish something strict could be done about it.”
The actress had earlier faced backlash during her time on Bigg Boss 17 over her association with Munawar Faruqui.
On the work front, she was last seen in Kapil Sharma's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 and is rumoured to join Bhagam Bhag 2 alongside Akshay Kumar.
