American actor Eric Dane’s daughter is celebrating a big day without her father.

The actor, who is widely known for his role as Dr. Mark in Grey’s Anatomy, passed away after a battle with ALS on February 19 at the age of 53.

The late star’s eldest daughter Billie is celebrating her 16th birthday without him.

Eric had Billie with his wife Rebecca Gayheart and later welcomed second daughter Georgia.

Rebecca shared a wish for their teenager on her Instagram writing “Happy sweet 16 to the sweetest girl — mommy loves you to the moon and back unconditionally forever and ever.”

The post featured childhood photos of Billie, including moments with Eric. Rebecca also added Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide as the background score.

The couple got married in 2004 and welcomed daughters in 2010 and 2012 before filing for divorce, which was later withdrawn by Rebecca.

In an essay for The Cut, Rebecca shared how their daughters are dealing with Eric’s health condition writing “They’re trying to individuate while they’re having to deal with this really huge loss and anticipatory grief.”

The actor passed away within a year of announcing his ALS diagnosis.
