Things take an unexpected turn on Benny Blanco’s Friends Keep Secrets when Selena Gomez revealed that a male celebrity once dropped a message in her DMs.

Her husband, Benjamin Joseph Levin, fired back with an unexpected response.

Without revealing the name, the 33-year-old singer and actress clarified on the March 3 episode of the podcast after Benny encouraged her to check whether the mystery celebrity had messaged her, saying, "Just heart eyes. And fingers crossed emojis."

"Oh my God," he replied. "What year was that?”

Benny and his co hosts Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco were shocked to learn that the message was sent to the Only Murders in the Building star in 2022.

Lil Dicky suggested that the message could have simply been a reaction to her Instagram Story, though Selena and Benny, who have been married since 2025, dismissed the idea.

"No, there’s nothing that he responded to," She stated. “It does say [the message] would respond to a story."

“He's just saying, like, fingers crossed that you answer me back. There is no response. That's not how it works,” the 37-year-old record producer chimed in.

But he went on to admit that he was left impressed by the attempt, saying, "He took his shot… It was a good shot.”

“I think it's very kind. If anything, that was very nice,” the Fetish hitmaker said.

“It did not feel inappropriate," she added.
