Indian actor Sonu Sood has once again stepped beyond the world of films, this time offering help to travellers stranded in Dubai as tensions grow in the Middle East.

The 52-year-old actor, famous for his social work, shared a short video online on Thursday, saying anyone stuck in the city because of the current crisis can reach out to him for free accommodation.

In the video, he said, “Anyone who's stranded in Dubai because of the ongoing crisis, we just want to tell you that you have a place to stay. We'll make sure that you get free-of-cost accommodation.”

In his message, the Dabangg actor said the offer was open to everyone, not just Indians.

“Jo log bhi humare Hindustani hai, ya kisi bhi nationality ke log phase hue hain Dubai ke andar, aap mujhe DM kijiye. We will make sure that you get a free of cost stay till you reach your country. Jai Hind. God bless you all,” he said.

It's pertinent to mention that flights across parts of the Gulf have been disrupted after rising hostilities involving Iran, Israel and the United States.

Airspace restrictions and suspended routes have left many travellers unable to leave major transit hubs, including Dubai.

Dubai is one of the world’s busiest travel gateways, and the current situation has led to cancellations and diversions across several airlines.

For many people in India, the  Simmba actor is already known for stepping in during emergencies. During the Covid-19 pandemic he helped thousands of migrant workers travel back home, arranging buses, trains, food and shelter.

Now, as travellers again find themselves stuck far from home, the actor appears to be trying to do what he can.
