Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green is setting the record straight after a video of Stephen Curry “staring him down” during a timeout went viral.
The incident occurred during the Warriors’ 129-101 blowout loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on February 28, 2026, while Curry was sidelined with a knee injury.
In the clip, Green is seen passionately shouting at his younger teammates on the bench. Beside him, Curry appears to stare at Green with an unreadable, intense expression, leading fans to speculate that the superstar was finally “fed up” with Green’s antics.
Addressing the drama on “The Draymond Green Show,” Green dismissed the rumours of a rift. “I see a lot of people’s reactions, like ‘Oh man, Steph’s tired of Draymond,’” Green said.
He clarified that since he talks to Curry every day, he knew the stare was actually a look of support. “What I saw in the video was that he was in agreeance of what I said,” Green explained.
Green noted that the team’s poor performance explained the lack of smiles, stating, “We were getting our ass kicked, so you’re not going to be sitting there smiling or enthused.”
He took a jab at the social media frenzy, adding, “I love how everyone tries to project their energy about me onto Steph – I think the reaction to it was pretty hilarious.”
