How ‘Bridgerton’ star Luke Thompson accidentally made ‘ISTG’ meme

Netflix period drama Bridgeron has taken over the world with the release of its season 4 full of ball gowns, teas and pastries.
However, off camera there was something else that became the moment of the internet leading up to the release of the anticipated season of Benedict and Sophie.
Luke Thompson, who stars as Benedict and Yerin Ha, who plays hislove interest Sophie, accidentaly made “ISTG” a meme.
The actor, who is known to be offline, was seated during a promo video and made to read fan comments gushing over Yerin where one comment he read “She is so ethereal ISTG”.
The 37-year-old was unaware of the internet slang for “I swear to god” and pronounced the word phonetically which left the internet in stitches.
But it was not over yet. Later, when he was asked if he knew what the word meant he said “Instagram”.
The misunderstandig has became a viral meme on the internet as netizens have started calling Instagram “ISTG”.
The moment’s rawness, the duo’s chemistry and Luke’s genuine awareness has created the organic viral moment that will be always linked to season 4.
