Britney Spears’ former husband Sam Asghari has shared his thoughts following the singer’s recent arrest for driving under the influence on Wednesday, March 4, in Ventura, California.

Two days later, the 32-year-old model and actor issued a statement to Fox News after officials revealed that the 44-year-old pop star was driving her black BMW 430i erratically at high speed.

While reflecting on forgiveness, Asghari said, “When it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that,” adding that his recent focus has been on global developments such as the conflict in Iran.

Ensuring he does not come across as a bitter ex and extending his support to Spears during this difficult time, he noted, “I think that everyone deserves privacy. And I hope the press has learned from the past that they give her the privacy that she needs.”

The former couple began dating in 2016, tied the knot in June 2022, and parted ways in July 2023. Their divorce was finalised in May 2024 by the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles County.
