'Dhurandhar 2' gears up for India advance bookings
The production team also planned special paid preview shows on the evening of March 18
Indian actor Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 was set to release in theatres on March 19, 2026. Overseas advance ticket deals began earlier that week in selected international requests, and the makers prepared to start advance bookings across India following the trailer launch.
The film's trailer premiered at 11 am on March 7. Ranveer Singh announced the trailer release on Instagram, writing, “Brace yourself. Trailer out tomorrow, March 7, at 11:01 AM.#DhurandharTheRevenge Releasing In Cinemas Worldwide on 19th March 2026 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada & Malayalam.”
The production team also planned special paid preview shows on the evening of March 18, a day before the official release. Major cinema chains introduced a new pricing tier called “Super Blockbuster Plus”, which was higher than the existing Super Blockbuster and Blockbuster ticket prices. The nearly four- hour runtime of the film contributed to this pricing decision, as cinemas could schedule fewer shows per day. The team explored ways to reduce the runtime to approximately three and a half hours but kept the film slightly longer.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge featured Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in leading roles. The story continued from the first film’s cliffhanger and followed Hamza Ali Mazari’s rise in Lyari Town, Pakistan, and his confrontation with Major Iqbal.
The release of Dhurandhar 2 was initially set to clash with Yash’s Toxic A Fairytale for Grown- Ups, but the postponement of Toxic to June 4 gave Ranveer’s film a clear advantage at the box office. The spy thriller still faced potential competition from Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary, which opened in theatres on March 20.
